2006年に三五館より刊行され、こころを癒す朗読書として人気を得た同書を電子書籍化した作品です。書籍刊行時の英訳にかえて、本書では作品に共鳴された翻訳家、松永太郎氏が思いをこめられた新訳を掲載しました。

A different, unusual wind was blowing on the 60th anniversary of the atomic bombing of Hiroshima. It was not a hot wind in that intense heat, but a completely new kind of wind that blew faintly enough but in a way so that one could not help but stop walking. Standing still and receiving the wind with one’s entire body, something distinctly different from the wailing heard up to now was conveyed.
Eventually I realized. This wind must be blowing for children living in this era, and it is a wind that contains thoughts that will blow through the new lives of those to be born and into the future.
This book is a translation of the words that this wind spoke.
