    Remittance Man (English Edition)

    Por Craig Multz

    Sobre

In 1893 Alister Davenport was a young impressionable school boy with a talent for producing credible works of art in all of the disciplines. His talent came to the attention of Leopold Von Danbi, a socialite and painter of some notoriety.

Alister became a remittance man in 1895 when in his 15th year he shamed his wealthy family by running away with the elderly painter to France. He was subsequently sent to the wilds of Canada and told not to return until he had become a respectable man.

We follow the young remittance man from the eastern shores of Canada to the islands of the Pacific Northwest, from adolescence into manhood.

We experience the nation maturing along with Alister. We live with his successes, failures, his lovers and his children. We follow his progeny for two generations as they eke out a living in changing times, doing what they need to do to make ends meet and then the law came calling.
