    Representing the Gay Identity Within Children’s Media (English Edition)

    Por Christopher Frankland

    Sobre

    Teenager Andrew Causer was brutally murdered by people he called friends;
    they beat him and left in the street to die. They had left school in the last 3 years and had beaten him, because he was gay.

    This final year dissertation looks into how the current media portray gay and lesbian people and their relationships to children. The case of Andrew Causer highlights a problem with some of the youth population, because some are not educated or accepting of homosexual relationships. This could be because of bad representations or the use of social stereotypes that could influence children to believe that gay relationships are wrong and should not be tolerated.
