Having been evicted from a council estate in Islington, Daniel moves into a studio flat in the outskirts of London. At his new school, he becomes smitten with the Head Boy who defends him from the Anarcats, a trio of masked delinquents intent on terrorising students and teachers.
Witnessing street fights, getting involved in drug gangs or being coerced to cross-dress by the headmistress couldn't faze Daniel as did seeing his house burn down and his alcoholic mother disappear on Valentine’s Day.
