Richard Ramirez was one such killer. Although Ramirez never blamed Satan for his crimes, he was a committed Satanist who believed in Satan as a genuine spiritual entity or person. Ramirez believed he was Satan’s foot soldier and desired a place at the Dark Lord’s right hand.

Ramirez would often leave the bodies of his victims scrawled with symbols which are popular with Satanists, such as pentagrams, or would paint the symbol on the walls of bedrooms of the victims in their blood. When he was eventually captured, he professed his allegiance to Satan and would appear in court with the pentagram scrawled on his hand which he would raise to the jury.
