This week we have a fantasy tale from Mark Slade, The Fool and the King, which is followed by Gary Murphy’s horror story of assisted living, Vulnerable Adult, and Stephen Hernandez’s own take on the terrors of the care system, The Knocker. The Days of Mr Thomas is on holiday, while in the Arabian Nights we have the tale of the Envier and the Envied. Rob Bliss’ Cut continues, but Daryll can see no hope of catching the sinister Sam-I-Am. And in The Caves of Mars, the city of Mar’gholis burns. And Anthony ‘Buck’ Roger is no better off; he’s At the Walls of Hell… But in The Land That Time Forgot, the U-boat crew are enjoying plesiosaurus steaks. Finally, we have a short comic strip by Ken L. Jones, which is a good introduction to Schlock! Bi-monthly, our new print magazine, to be published by Horrified Press, featuring the best of Schlock, plus a comic strip by Ken L. Jones and Kevin L. Jones, pencils and inks Jag Lall, lettering by Tom Luth, and additional material by David Todd Ocvirk.
At the same time, Mark Slade of Dark Dreams Podcast is beginning his own title, provisionally titled Nightmare Illustrated, also to be published by Horrified Press. Here’s a word from the big boss man, Nathan “the Warlock of Hertfordshire” Rowark, editor-in-chief:
