A black comedy set in the present. Wolferton College Lecturer Jim Wall ends up in hospital after falling off a No. 13 bus in Lower Bickering. This silly accident turns out to be a life changing event in more ways than one. On the road to recovery Jim meets the clever Doctor Apollo, wonderful nurse Rosie Wisdom, dog whisperer Marmalade Rainbow, learns the shocking truth about his dastardly, scheming brother Flint and is stunned by news from Wolferton College.
As the story unfolds Jim tries to make sense of what is happening to him, while Doctor Apollo falls in love with the voluptuous, danger seeking Bella Fontella. Despite his acute fear of heights he travels by “Fly now Pay Later Airways” to the little known principality of Pavlovnia to bungee jump off the Rombolt Dam to impress her. What could be easier after you’ve had seven Schümli Pflümli’s!
