    Por Gret Lane

    Sobre

Giles Moore is a man at the end of his tether. His beloved sister Mary is in thrall to a South African fortune-hunter, Arnold Manton, who has turned up at Curlew Coombe, the Moore's Devonshire country house, accompanied by a number of suspicious foreigners. Now, Mary is determined to marry the interloper, putting the family inheritance at risk. In desperation, Moore turns to John Barrin, late of Scotland Yard. Barrin suspects that the Moore is the victim of nothing more than his own xenophobic paranoia. Nevertheless, he sends his friends, the young couple Kate and Tony Marsh, to investigate. But when Kate and her husband arrive at Curlew Coombe, they find that Moore may well be justified in his fears – fears which are tragically confirmed when one of the house’s inhabitants is cruelly murdered…

Originally published in 1930, this is a classic British murder mystery from the golden age of crime fiction.
