From the Foreword:
It is with great delight that I present to you this first edition of The Digital Puritan. A great advantage to the lover of Puritan literature is the growing abundance of texts made available on the Internet in recent years. However, this same advantage often serves as a stumbling block, as the reader may have no small degree of difficulty in determining just where to begin. Current collections of Puritan literature available in the digital format are often cumbersome and poorly arranged, making them impractical for meaningful devotional use. My humble goal has been to select eminently useful Puritan literature from the voluminous material available and present it in a digestible and portable form appropriate for personal study.
Presented for your consideration are five pieces of varying length and style. Each author is a trusted workman who handled Scripture with both precision and honesty. My prayer is that each will convince, convict, and consign you to go on to maturity in Christ.
Vulgo vetus veritas,
The Editor.
This edition contains the following:
1. Directions For a Peaceful Death - Richard Baxter
2. The Evil of Sin Works For Good to The Godly - Thomas Watson
3. Pressing Into The Kingdom of God - Jonathan Edwards
4. Of Temptation (excerpt) - John Owen
5. Ten Special Helps and Rules Against Satan's Devices - Thomas Brooks
