This edition of Joseph Seiss’ 1882 classic, “The Gospel in the Stars or Primeval Astronomy,” has been annotated with extra information such as translations of foreign phrases, illustrations, comments; in addition to having been specially re-typeset for electronic readers. Unlike scanned copies of this book, the type may be enlarged and other features of electronic readers utilized. Joseph Seiss was a Lutheran theologian, minister, and writer who was fundamentally sound and orthodox in his doctrine. He did venture into what some have deemed “speculative theology,” although modern day preachers such as the late D. James Kennedy, PhD. of Coral Ridge Ministries, have agreed with Seiss’ findings. Quoting Kennedy, “The Bible tells us that God has named all of the stars, the host of heaven—that He has numbered them, ordered them and set them in the firmament to be signs. The original meaning was corrupted into something which was demonic, something which was satanic, something which was counterfeit, something which has given birth to what is known as modern astrology, which the Bible repeatedly condemns and warns Christians against. The corruption began in Babylon with the Tower of Babel.”
