The coverage of the news and those who report or write about it need to instill integrity in the process. This not only includes major media sources but it also includes individuals. We as individuals have our opinions and through blogs, books and articles our opinions are expressed.
It is true broadcasters work for organizations but the political philosophy now in place in many media organizations are losing credibility. The manner in which political events are covered or not is related to their political philosophy. If it agrees with their objectives an event gets exposure but only with the facts as they want the public to hear. Events that contradict their political philosophy get ignored.
Reporting or commenting on news events need to be open to identify all the facts not just what they want to say. The same is true of writers, authors and bloggers. All the facts should be presented for the public to make up their own minds as to any political news. It is fine to express opinions but in doing so both sides need to be expressed as much as possible.
The term journalists really applies to all of us and it is a term that really applies to anyone who interacts with news coverage. A true journalist should present all the facts not just what they want the public to know. It is a disservice to the general public to distort any news event by any individual or organization.
