The Horseman (English Edition)

Every month the horseman comes to our village, bringing news from the outside world. He tells of battles, plagues and death. Only in our valley, tucked away in the mountains, do people find respite from the horrors of the world out there. And we give him a ceremony and a sack of gold each time he comes, thankful for the news he brings us, and for each affirmation he gives that we are safe from the evils of the world.
