Well, I have been travelling around the world since 2006, and I have encountered very little trouble along the way. Personally, the idea of a thirty-year mortgage was scarier to me, and the housing market did collapse. I can honestly say that investing my money in life experience, travel, and memories that will last a lifetime was the best decision that I could have ever made!
While travelling around the more expensive countries of the world, you're going to have to cook a lot of your own meals, otherwise you'll end-up blowing a significant part of your budget on just food bills alone!
Not everyone knows how to cook, but if you're going to Australia, New Zealand, areas of South America, Europe, or North America, you should really learn a little. The type of cooking I'm talking about is for when you're staying in hostels, or when you're moving from hostel-to-hostel. You don't always have the best kitchens, you don't want to spend your time cleaning up, you don't want to be messing around getting hundreds of ingredients that later you have to carry with you, and most of all you want to enjoy your holidays stress free!
