Matt and Del continue to explore CUP space, thousands of light years from Earth. They search for and hire on new crewmen to travel and explore the frontier while successfully transporting cargo and passengers. On the frontier they are forced to engage in combat with criminals and pirates to protect their passengers, cargo and themselves. The crew upgrades Voyager and travels toward Murlurian space (a solitary aquatic species) where they encounter an old threat to civilization. Matt reveals to the crew of Voyager that Del is an on board Artificial Intelligence (AI). AI's having been the terror of CUP space that all parents frightened their children with similar to the "Boogeyman.". Can Matt and the crew of Voyager overcome the challenges of combat with pirates and the surprise revelations that threaten civilization, military AI's.
