THE STANDUP THINKER: A One-Woman-Play (Reading & Acting Edition) is the story of one woman’s attempt to turn her faults into profit. Her problem? She's a thinker and because of this, a failure. It’s Tuesday night. She’s backstage inside Kelsey's DownUnder, waiting to be called up. Tonight is ‘open mic’ night; a once a month, three hour long, marathon evening of fledgling comedians. The torture chamber, as many aspiring comics call Kelsey’s, is the anteroom through which all wanna be comedians must pass before being allowed entrance into Atlantis: Fame, Money, Respect. If a talent does well, she’s let in; if not, she’s banished. Forever. Her future is on the line. She has one chance to prove herself worthy.
