It is not for outsiders to know of the Shanties. It is indelible, a definitive part of the Shantyway.Yet Miko, a young man, is discouraged to see so many keepers have escaped from Cityscape and are now making their home in the Shanties. He is unhappy that they brought with them a belief in a god made up by an ancient robot. He would be happier if no one from outside knew about the Shanties. He would be happy if nothing would change.Unfortunately for Miko, everything he knows is about to change.
