Orison Swett Marden (1848-1924) was an American writer who worked in the genre of inspirational prose writing about the ways to gain success in life. According to his philosophy of life, people can manage their lives as they create and transform the life around them themselves. 'To The First Robin' is a short piece of prose by Orison Marden that tells us about some children who find a robin that is almost dead. But one of the girls decides that it's worth trying to save the bird. That decision of hers corresponds to Marden perception of the world, pierced with the idea 'I don't regret failures, but I regret things I've never tried.
