Since 2000, Ed has experienced and documented in his poetry, at least three life changing events: the cancers and eventual passing in 2008 of his dear wife, Ellen; the burning and rebuilding of their house in 2004-2005; and his own quadruple bypass in 2005. TOUGH MILLENNIUM is the poetic record of these events and their effects on his life. Ed Scutt is a retired high school Language Arts Teacher. In his retirement he is active as a student and teacher at OSHER Lifelong Learning Institute at RIT. He is an award winning community theatre actor and playwright and a director in community theatre. Ed is a published poet and a reader who is active in the Rochester Poetry Community. He lives with his two literary, though not literate dogs, Holden and Huck.
