While the sub-title of this story contains the term ‘Mis-Adventure’, this is not a tale of woe. In fact, it is mainly a travel adventure with moderate to high risk-taking rather than mis-adventure.
Though laced with pitfalls and conflict, at its heart ‘Travels with My Son’ is a classic story of father-son bonding. At least this was this writer’s objective.
At the end of the day, it’s hard to say if our adventure was a case of ‘mission accomplished’ with respect to an improved relationship with son number two. Regardless, it was a once-in-a-lifetime, outside-the-box experience which is permanently engraved on each of our memories.
Hopefully, over the course of his life, my son will reflect on the trip and remember all of its positive aspects and his good fortune at being able to live the adventure with his dad.
Time will tell.
