In competitive world, nature of research problem is going to be
complicated that may not be resolved by single technique or
method because of its limited capability. Researchers may apply
single method to resolve a problem to some extent but remaining
unresolved part may scratch the image of a company or customer
satisfaction or employee loyalty. The deployment of customer
relationship management or supply chain management at 360o is
demand of time that required to be fulfilled by each and every
organization. Practitioners at organizations and research scholar at
academic institutions are responsible to provide authenticate
information, results and findings to their stakeholders so that
stakeholders can take efficient and effective decisions.
Triangulation process invites PhD/MS scholar, academicians, and
practitioners to triangulate their research to minimize the risk of
failure and better implications to theory, policy and practice.
Triangulation demands from qualitative guru and quantitative
experts to synergize their capabilities for a better contribution to the
business organization and humanity.
This book understanding triangulation is an effort to give an
orientation so thatresearch scholars (MS/PhD), academicians and
practitioners can understand it and become capable to answer the
three questions like what is triangulation?, why triangulation? And
how triangulation works? In this book, author empirically investigated the critical success
factors for offshore software Project/Startups using multi-method
approach or triangulation (literature review, case study, survey,
consultative approach). This study has investigated the critical
success factors by triangulating the above research methods in
the following sequence. First, author identified the global critical
success from global theoretical research review. Then, case study
approach (qualitative) that comprised of 06 small and medium
software development enterprises was applied to investigate the
CSFs empirically in depth. Moreover, complete list of identified
CSFs was circulated in the form of questionnaire survey
(quantitative) to triangulate/validate and to avoid researcher’s
bias. The tentative identified list was further verified by consultative
approach. So, author applied nested/multiple triangulation. The
investigated critical success factors (CSFs) include, understanding
of the goals of venture/Project/Startup, clients culture awareness,
high context culture and leadership skills, top management,
customer involvement, employee empowerment, technical
capable team and established IT infrastructure. The results will be
fruitful for serial entrepreneur, CEO of software firm, software
Project/Startup managers, software engineers, programmers,
system analyst in their Project/Startup plan and its completion. The
software development firms may plan, organize, and control their
resources based upon the results. This conclusion determined that
offshore software Project/Startup may lead to failure unless firms
have policy to share the information among employees about
critical values and factors required in the Project/Startup
development. A valuable outcome of this study was that small firm’s top
management or senior management actively involves and
commitment was guaranteed. SMEs have fast communication,
customer involvement and no political factors. Therefore, these
firms can win loyalty of customer by completing Project/Startups
within in time, budget and specification.
This book will guide MS/PhD scholars because of its nature and
structure that based upon PhD Dissertation. Its first part explained
the understanding triangulation, then part two talk about the
understanding critical success factors i.e. research problem and
literature review. In third part, research methodology and research
philosophy are described followed by results analysis. In last
conclusion & implications of the research is provided.
