Is Your Spanish Stuck in a Rut?

This Book Can Help Pull Your Spanish Out of that Rut and Get You Back on the Road to Fluency!

I know how it goes. I spent YEARS stuck in the same rut.

I wanted to improve, so I bought one Spanish course after another.

Unfortunately, most Spanish courses don't seem to be designed for learners at the Advanced Beginner or Intermediate levels.

I already knew a fair amount of Spanish, but I wanted to learn more. I wanted to be able to read Spanish books and magazines, and to enjoy watching Spanish TV.

But after YEARS of trying just about every Spanish course available, I was stuck.

So I decided to try to tackle the problem myself.

I began by recording Spanish conversations, hoping that listening to the recordings would improve my Spanish.

Sadly, it wasn't long before I figured out that listening to these recordings was no more helpful than watching Spanish TV. It just doesn't do any good to listen to Spanish if you have no idea what's being said.

So I had the conversations transcribed and translated into English.

This way, as I listened to the recordings I was able to follow along with the Spanish script, while also having the English translations at hand.

To work on reading, I simply read the Spanish script and checked my comprehension with the English translation.

I soon created several ways to use the materials that not only made learning easier, but that also worked amazingly well!

I found that I especially liked conversations where someone spoke about their day or described something that happened to them.

These stories were not only helpful, they were interesting! And since I found them interesting, I kept at it, and my comprehension of Spanish began improving - a LOT!

In fact, I was so happy with the results that I knew I had to share this information!

So I created this series of books, "Using Stories to Learn Spanish", to help YOU get out of the Spanish learning rut and back on the move again!

    These aren't just ANY stories.

The stories in my book revolve around daily life as told by native Spanish speakers.

In Book 1, "Un día típico", you'll meet the Montoya family, where 6 of the family members take turns describing their typical day.

They'll tell you what time they get up, what they do for breakfast, how they get to work or school, what they do all day, what time they get home, what they do to relax, etc.

Can you imagine being able to understand all of these descriptions?

    Warning: This isn't for beginners.

You'll need some basic Spanish skills to get the most out of this book, but to make it as easy as possible I've split the book into two sections.

In Section One you can read each Spanish story in its entirety immediately followed by its English translation. If you have a question about a line in a story, you can check the translation right on the next few pages!

Section Two will help anyone struggling with the stories in Section One.

Both sections have the same stories, but in Section Two each Spanish SENTENCE is immediately followed by the English translation.

    Like this:

Mi nombre es Carlos. He estado casado durante 10 años.
(My name is Carlos. I have been married for 10 years.)

I recommend starting with the Carlos story in Section One.

However, if you find yourself struggling at all, move to Section Two and read the Carlos story sentence by sentence. (The Section Two stories also include 'notes' that define some of the words and phrases, to help eliminate your need for a Spanish dictionary.)

Once you've gone through the Section Two version of the story, go back and read the straight Spanish version in Section One again.

You'll be amazed at your improvement!

Once you're comfortable with all of the Spanish-only stories in Section One, it's time to move on to the next book in the series!

    You can do this!

But it's up to you. Are you ready to get out of that rut and start learning?
