    Don't Stop Learning!

In this second book of descriptive Spanish stories, the Montoya family is getting ready to take a trip to the farm where father of the family, Carlos, grew up.

Carlos will describe growing up on the farm, doing chores, and what it was like living in the country. He'll also describe his excitement to see his parents again, who still reside on the farm.

Mom of the family, María, will tell you about getting everything ready for the trip, and she'll also tell you how different her childhood was growing up in the city.

Eight year old daughter Ana will describe her excitement of taking the trip to the farm, and of visiting her grandparents whom she hasn't seen in quite a while. She'll also talk about her hopes of riding a horse.

Ana will then introduce you to her six year old brother Mateo, who besides being her brother is also her friend. Then she'll describe the gift that she and Mateo made for their grandparents.

Grandma Elena is coming along for the ride, and will be a big help in caring for the baby of the family, two-year old Isabela.

Maria's brother Ricardo, who lives in the nearby city, will stay home to take care of the house and the family's dog Coco.

Important: These stories were written for Advanced Spanish Beginners and may not be suitable for absolute beginners.

These stories cover situations involving use of Spanish in all grammatical tenses -- future, past, and present - WITHOUT dragging any GRAMMAR lessons into the mix!

As in Book 1, "Un día típico", Book 2 is divided into two sections.

In Section One - you'll read each member of the family's story completely uninteruppted in spanish, immediately followed by the English translation. This way, if you have a question about a line or two in the Spanish story, you can check the meaning right away.

Section Two of the book is again designed for newer Spanish readers or for anyone struggling with the Spanish-only stories in Section One.

In Section Two you'll have the same stories as in Section One, but this time you'll have the Spanish story AND English translation all on the same page. Like this:

Las cosas en la granja no han cambiado mucho.
Things on the farm have not changed much.)

And to keep you from constantly needing to refer to a Spanish dictionary, the Section Two stories again include NOTES, to help explain the language as you read!

    Okay.

It's Friday, and the Montoya family is getting ready to leave. Would you like to go with them?

[Note: since this is a series of books that do not need to be read in any particular order, approximately six written pages regarding How to Use the Book, etc., are duplicated from Book 1.]
