Who’d have thought that washing your pants in the sink, surviving on soup for weeks on end, and being completely, embarrassingly afraid of everything would prove quite so liberating?
Nope, me neither.
As a self-confessed ‘anxiety addict’, I re-drew the boundaries of my comfort zone in order to escape the daily grind, quitting my job and rented flat in the summer of 2011 to go off on an extended jolly.
What followed was an exercise in patience, acceptance, and how to act in the face of giant spiders, rogue emus and the fact that the whole of Australia was out to get me…
