Maurice Dyson received his B.A. from Columbia College, Columbia University, his J.D. from Columbia Law School and was a Fellow at Teachers College, Columbia University where he studied education. A member of the national Society of Children Book Writers and Illustrators, and two-time winner of the American Scholastic Press Association Award, he now lives in San Diego where he continues to teach and write.
