Jon Gibby has reviewed the form of last year's lightly-raced two-year-olds and has identified 72 that he considers to have been allotted potentially lenient official ratings ahead of their three-year-old campaigns. Most of them have been campaigned with their future three-year-old handicap careers in mind and their form to date has in the main been either poor or unexceptional. Jon has narrowed the field down by studying form, by using his own trainer and sire statistics and by using his unique Predictive Ratings (explained in the book). Full summaries for each selection explain why they have been selected and they include guidance on their breeding, plus likely distance and going requirements. He has also looked closely at the recordings of their past performances and weeded out those that were small, those that regularly pulled hard, as well as those that looked ungainly or appeared to be ungenuine and he has deliberately chosen horses that have physical scope to improve and those that have a relaxed, straightforward way of racing.
