In today's world, it is becoming more and more acceptable to abuse drugs and alcohol. Why is this?
People have always to some extent consumed alcohol and drugs, there is even an argument that daily consumption of especially alcohol can have health benefits and lead to a healthier and longer life. There is even an argument that in certain cases use of illicit drugs can lead to a pain-free life.
Many argue that drugs or no more harmful than alcohol and sometimes have less harmful effects on the human body than alcohol.
All of this is open to debate, and while the consumption of illegal drugs is becoming legal in many states and countries we have to begin asking ourselves why are people becoming more and more addicted to their use. It is one's own personal choice as to whether he or she wants to ruin their life by the excessive consumption of drugs,(illegal or legal), and or alcohol.
I don't think the debate should be over whether or not one consumes drugs or alcohol one has to ask, "Why are so many turning to these destructive behaviors?"
