The goal of this program is to improve the management of postoperative pain and the perioperative management of patients with low ejection fraction. After hearing and assimilating this program, the clinician will be better able to:
1: Prevent acute postoperative pain from developing into chronic pain.
2: Appreciate the advantages of the multimodal approach for pain management.
3: Administer intravenous forms of ibuprofen and acetaminophen as part of a multimodal approach to pain management.
4: Appropriately manage surgical patients with implantable cardioverter defibrillator devices.
5: Develop anesthesia management strategies for patients with low ejection fraction.
