Purpose: Audio-Digest Foundation CME/CE activities are designed to provide its learners – physicians and other healthcare professionals – with continuing education that will help identify clinical problems in their practice settings, provide content to help to solve those problems, and increase their application of knowledge to practice.

The goal of this program is to improve patient health through safe and appropriate use of complementary and alternative medicine (CAM). After hearing and assimilating this program, the clinician will be better able to:
1: Cite forms of CAM supported by high-quality clinical evidence.
2: Recommend forms of CAM that have been shown to be effective in improving psychiatric symptoms.
3: Identify patients most likely to benefit from additional intake of omega-3 fatty acids.
4: Recognize potential consequences of herbal medications unique to elderly patients.
5: Avoid potential toxicities and interactions associated with popular herbal medications.
